Here comes the rain again

falling on my head like a memory (umm very recent memory), fallin on my head like a new emotion (try disgust). (listen)

First Charlotte and now New Hampshire, it's the 2nd time in a month rain shortens a NASCAR Cup race. It just so happens that both events are won by a victory virgin; this time it's Joey Logano who gets his cherry popped.

"Fuel mileage races" or "weather races" can be exciting, but when they happen with regularity it kinda, well... sucks. Nothin' against Joey, he was going to get a win eventually, but in this race he flat stunk up the joint. We are used to the phrase "the best car doesn'y always win", that is just a part of racing. Having said that we don't really want to see the worst car winning races.

There is a silver lining though, Joey's win bumps Kyle Busch from the record of youngest driver to win a Cup race. ;-)

Mayfield having withdrawls

Err, I mean is in denial, wait oops, I really mean... Jeremy Mayfield denies using meth. In a written affidavit he is quoted.

"I have never taken methamphetamines in my life, and when accused of taking them I immediately volunteered to give another urine sample,"

For some reason he declined going to the dentist, looks like you're gonna need a bit of work there Jer!

Kyle as the Joker

Sometimes ole shrub takes his ever developing persona a bit too seriously. When he says the sport needs "villains", clearly he is talking about himself and Toyota.

TNT "Wide Open" Telecast

Is it just me, or is it insanely annoying.

At first your thinking, "hey this isn't so bad", but then they take a "local" break with normal commercials. It's like "what the hell". Only to be followed up by more wide open commercials.

ARGHH!

Hendrick makes a play for Stewart...

Is there any other way to view the move to bring on Mark Martin? I know they say he's going to do one full season and split time again, but is Rick Hendrick really going to field a car that can't win in 2010?

Seems unlikely to me. Maybe Keselowski is the man, but why make him run a partial schedule in 2010? I think they are going to make one big push for Tony.

Deported

It seems as though Jacques Villeneuve is the latest casulaty in the battle against "undocumented" workers.

Without official US sponsorship he could soon be deported back to the nation of open wheels.

"I just want to work and provide a better life for my family", Villeneuve said.

With the recent foreign invasion, some NASCAR conservatives are looking for a way, any way to stem the tide.

"Obviously the soft walls aren't working, maybe we need to get back to something tougher" one insider was quoted as saying.

Will this have an effect on other foreign born drivers? Hard to say, but NASCAR CONS are on the lookout.
